 Billy Crosbie has been involved with the jazz based scene in Kinsale for twenty years. He was instrumental with some Kinsale vintners in setting up and maintaining the Kinsale Fringe Jazz festival, which runs concurrent with the Guinness Cork Jazz festival, in late October. He is a founder member of the Cork City Jazz Band, who play every Sunday lunchtime in Actons Hotel, Kinsale for the last twenty years. At present his group ‘Billy Crosbie and Friends’ have a seasonal contract on Saturday night with the Trident Hotel.
He is involved with the Kinsale Lions Club and has produced, in conjunction with Derek Davis (RTE), spectacular shows in 2001; 2002; 2003; 2004; 2005; 2006 and continuing in 2007 where in excess of €200,000 went to the R.N.L.I. and local Kinsale charities. |
